Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology

The Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology (CJO) is the official journal of the Canadian Ophthalmological Society (COS) and is committed to timely publication of original, peer-reviewed ophthalmology and vision science articles.

CPD credits can be claimed via the Journal by:

1. Reading CJO articles

   Reading a CJO article is a scanning activity under Section 2.  You may claim 1 credit per article. If reading the article stimulates a learning need, you may choose to develop a personal learning project (PLP).  You may claim 2 credits per hour for each personal learning project (PLP). The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada states that you must document your learning need, outcome and resources.

2. Writing CJO articles

   Writing a CJO article is considered a personal learning project, and is eligible for Section 2 credits.  You may claim 2 credits per hour for each personal learning project (PLP). The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada states that you must document your learning need, outcome and resources.

3. Reviewing CJO articles

   Reviewing a CJO article is considered Section 2: Self-Learning (planned learning, scanning, systems learning).  You may claim 15 credits per year per journal for review work.  Any additional learning can be recorded as a personal learning project (PLP).  You may claim 2 credits per hour for each personal learning project (PLP).  The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada states that you must document your learning need, outcome and resources.
